About Intravenous Infusion – 96366
CPT 96366 is an add-on code reported for each additional hour of therapeutic, prophylactic, or diagnostic intravenous infusion beyond the initial hour described by the primary infusion code. It applies when the same infused substance or drug is continued sequentially beyond the first hour, and it must always be billed alongside a qualifying initial IV infusion service. This code captures incremental infusion time and is not reported as a stand-alone service.
