About Drug Injection – 96374
CPT 96374 reports the intravenous push administration of a therapeutic, prophylactic, or diagnostic substance, other than chemotherapy or a biologic requiring chemotherapy-level administration coding. It is designated as an initial service code, used when IV push is the sole or primary method of administration during the encounter. An IV push is defined as an injection in which the physician or qualified staff is continuously present to administer the substance and observe the patient, or an infusion lasting 15 minutes or less.
